Going the extra mile

The access roads, footways, undercroft and recycling areas at Tesco Finchley were heavily damaged and had subsidence across the site. Mulberry were requested to resurface these areas and to install bollards to
prevent vehicles accessing the pedestrianised areas outside the store.

Stakeholder engagement included neighbouring properties and businesses, with all being visited individually to ensure the scheme caused minimal disruption.

Full resurfacing of the pedestrian walkways and carriageway lay-by was undertaken with a heavy vehicle specification asphalt and all footpaths and pedestrianised areas received full asphalt refurbishment.

Further to the delivery of the utility mapped report it was discovered that that due to the extent of underground services the bollards could not be installed at the intended location. Mulberry devised a solution that was in keeping with the local authorities street furniture scheme by implementing a visually appealing wooden planter solution.
